THE ARTS SOCIETY is a leading art education charity with a global network of 385 societies bringing people together through a shared interest in the arts.
Locally, members of the Arts Society Bath Evening meet monthly from October to June at Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institute to attend lectures on subjects ranging from paintings, architecture, garden design and many other fascinating art related topics. The first lecture of our 2019-2020 programme at 7.10pm on Monday 7th October is A ROYAL RESCUE; Dumfries House saved and revealed by Matthew Williams. The full season’s programme will be published on this website shortly. Meanwhile for further information contact Jane Walters on 01225 834030.
As well as a programme of outstanding talks our society arranges visits to places of special interest. Recent destinations have included Roy Strong’s beautiful garden, Laskett, and the Arts and Crafts inspired house and garden at Rodmarton Manor in Gloucestershire. Our summer 2019 visit is to The Hall, Bradford on Avon.
Members are also involved in projects in the local community, such as Young Arts and Trails of Discovery.
You can find out more about these projects, details of visits plus any special events, for example study days, on the ACTIVITIES page of our website
